Individual Financial Planning & Portfolio Management
Overview
An independent Registered Investment Advisor (RIA) offers a number of professional services to assist a client in identifying and meeting financial objectives over a long time period, all aimed toward identification and fulfillment of wealth-related goals. Our approach may be different than the usual experience
Anchor Management’s role in this process is to work with the individual, family, or multigenerational family to identify long term wealth management goals and objectives, and to then craft an investment and financial management plan to meet those goals. Finally, the plan is implemented and closely managed over the length of the relationship.
Collaborator/Advocate
First and foremost, the financial planner collaborates with the client to craft a custom plan. Once the plan reaches the implementation phase, the independent financial planner becomes the clients' advocate. This commitment impacts all facets of the ongoing relationship from the development of a plan to the implementation of the plan and its constituent parts, whether through tax planning, identifying of insurance needs, creation of trusts or other estate planning devices, and especially through the management of investments.
The role of the financial planner/investment advisor is to focus on the client's position, and to continually take steps to protect and advance those positions. Implementation of a plan and the management of wealth is not a one-time event. Needs of clients change over time, environmental conditions change, and the financial performance of investments are dynamic influences. The astute advisor/ financial planner will maintain a constant surveillance of all of these impacting factors and will take appropriate steps to assure continued strong efforts to maintain client focus.
Different from other 'financial advisors'
As a fee-only Registered Investment Advisor (RIA), Anchor Capital Management, LLC, can be clearly distinguished from other financial organizations affiliated with banks, brokerage firms or insurance organizations. Anchor sells no products and receives no remuneration from the sale or placement of any financially-related product. It operates on a fee-only basis and charges clearly identified fees for the services it offers related to the development of a financial plan and the management of assets under that plan.
Other organizations may be interested in placing services or products from which they derive a commission or potential profit. Anchor's independence allows us to work solely as the client's advocate in connection with the clients other professionals — lawyers, tax specialists, accountants, as well as brokerage organizations and insurance providers—to assure its clients receive the most appropriate products and services to meet their individual needs. Anchor does not receive any remuneration from any of these activities, and is therefore able to seek impartial advice to meet client needs.
"RIA" means we are registered with the state of New York. Registration does not mean a government agency approves an advisor or reviews their qualifications.
